Alright, I have been itching to buy a lens for a while. I haven't owned any real lenses ever. I've used some good lenses and I know what a difference they make. My current setup is a great general purpose set up with a little bit of everything:
Canon XTi
EF-S 18-55mm IS
EF 50mm f/1.8
EF-S 55-250mm IS
430EXII
Certain filters/tripod/remote release etc.
I don't NEED any lens, I want something. To play around. I'm unable to decide if I want a telephoto/UWA/TS-E/Zoom/Prime. So now you see my predicament. :D
I looked over the following lenses and I don't know what I want:
UWA:
Canon 10-22 (Been on my list to buy for ever now.)
Sigma 8-16
Fast Primes:
Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8
Canon 100mm f/2 , f/2.8 macro, f/2.8L IS macro
Canon 135mm f/2L
Canon 200mm f/2.8L
TS:
Canon 45mm TS-E
Canon 90mm TS-E
As you can see, I do not have a well defined need for a lens. I have all my needs covered by the lenses I own. I want a new toy. In all probability, I may end up with the 10-22. The single most annoying thing about the Sigma 8-16 is that it doesn't take filters (at least the regular ones), and that is a deal breaker for me.
I just want a solid lens to play around with, let's just call it a birthday gift from me to me. :D
