If you are looking at critique, there are plenty!

First get the WB right! The pix are too orange-yellow for my comfort.

Secondly, get the framing right.

Thirdly, the background is horrible in some with the entire array of dressing table goods showing! Does not even look serious.

the thing while shooting scale models is that, many just go behind getting a smooth background(bokeh)and forget to actually stop down their aperture. If the aperture is wide open, your model itself is not in focus.(as in Details.)

What you can do here is,if you have a tripod, set your cam on it.Ill take your first photo as reference.Just pin point your AF to each car, without actually moving your cam.So you got a stationery frame where your AF is moving from car to car. Then in PS CS4 you can stack those together to get each and every car pin sharp.

Also taking your turbo charger photo, this is a nice one.You can apply a similar technique here. One for the charger. One for the wheel. You can move your equipment just a bit to bring the wheel in focus if your AF cant grab it.Best is MF.

You can try out lighting the cars.May be with a small LED torch or a normal torch, anything.

Thanks a lot Ken Sir and anvancy.

The thing is I started shooting these pics just for fun and got serious later, hence the messy background and the use of the same WB all over.

but now that i have got better ideas from you both im definetly going to have another session soon...this time with more cars and better setting!

Thank You

Shoot in RAW and change it later to get it right. If you do not have RAW possibilities then use tools to get it right.

You can for example bring nice colored chart papers.Blue, orange red etc.Keep contrasting colors and take photos.See how it comes.

I did not know that you collected scale models.

Now this is what Ranjith needs to notice. The way you have played with the Background and used it to your advantage to enhance the quality of the product and highlight it.

The 2nd and last photographs are really good.

I am not even getting into Aryan's photograph. There is no point. I am sure Ranjith will notice what is there to notice.

He should now come up with a new set to showcase his improvements.

Damn! That's too harsh to come out of Ken!

I'm sure there's a typo there and you meant 'he should now come up with a new set to showcase his improvements'

Sorry, my mistake. It was a typo. I meant that he should NOW come up with a new set to showcase his improvements.

Thanks for pointing out Vicky!
