Boss,
check DPR - most people here would not have the L22.
however, PM synn. despite being a Nikon fan for life, even he has less than flattering opinion about the Coolpix series overall.

get anything you like ,EXCEPT SONY point and shoots .
or increase your budget by Rs 1.4k and buy Canon Ixus 95is

Pic quality in comparision to others isn't that good :).most of my friends who bought sony later either got panasonic ,canon or nikon .
cyber shots has more to do with style statment than with picture quality .
Note :I've nothing against the owners of sony pns
Got nikon coolpix L22 Good built quality no control over ISO.
Picture gets blurred when viewed at full resolution!

Hi Amby,
Sorry for late reply, I saw your question but didn't remember the camera serial numbers so didn't reply until I could confirm the same and accessing outside sites at work is an offence. :( IMHO, I won't suggest you to go with Nikon L22.
Without considering prices, I would suggest you to get Canon Powershot A1100IS and then the second best is Kodak EasyShare C190. If you want value for money along with features, performance and handling the Kodak EasyShare C190 wins hands down in the P&S segment under INR 10k. This model should be available for your at INR 7.9k with a 2GB memory card, AA-sized NiMH battery & battery charger. The Canon A1100IS should be around INR 9.9k. IMHO, I would suggest you to go for Kodak as it has a stellar performance.
Yours photographically,
Edit: Oops, too late, I guess. I just saw and found that you have already purchased the Nikon L22.

I too wanted to know the same thing. I have been using a DSC for nearly 4 years. I have excellent results, very good colours and decent videos. It has stopped working now. But I have been pretty happy with it. Could you please elaborate on why is it not all that good?
So I have fiddled with the cam now ...the main drawback what I see is that there is no manual control over most of the controls of the camera you cannot control the ISO,shutter speed there is no control over the review time and yeah pictures are crispy, sharp when zoomed...although good picture colour comes up.Flash is good enough.Easy mode which is supposed to be USP for the camera,For me is not that useful..
Although it is a good buy and VFM.
Panorama funtion is quite good ...

I like canon colours+ find SOOC shot better over sony cybershot .(I don't like post processing point and shoot pictures).
Even though I have not owned any sony point and shoots ,but I have used DSC-T5,W5,those H series one etc .
Here are the pics of the camera
and some of the snaps which I took
I just wish to get a DSLR now, most of the controls are automatic which I dont like at all.No viewfinder.Let me see if I can manage a Nikon D3000 or Canon Eos 1000D and a 20/30-300 mm lens :)

So you are not happy with a less than 8K camera!
What's with all the pixelation in your second portrait up there?
