Last morning (Sunday - April 25, 2010), we (me, Ken Da and Manfred) from thePhotographer.in visited Old Delhi for photography purposes. It's been the 'Nth' time that I have been there now (I visit Old Delhi about once every two odd weeks), but each time I seem to be falling in love with that part of Delhi more and more. It is there that the TRUE India lives!
Presenting here are a few photographs from my end. I sure hope we all get to see the two masters' work too.
Ken Da and Manfred - Please do post your share of photographs this decade! :D :D Meanwhile, here is my set.
Thanks,
-Aryan
A Ray of Hope - A thin curtain of light filters through the top to a scooter parked inside the alley.

Young and Vibrant - The vibrant colors of the door and the walls symbolize the young and vibrant nature and heart of the kid.

Breaking News! - A man reads the day's newspaper sitting on a cart, with a downed shutter of a shop behind him.

The Secret Entrance - A colorful entrance; I wonder what lies behind it, while a person peeks through the small entrance at my lens!

Dilli - 6 - A old, battered post-box, somewhere in one of the alleys of Old Delhi.

'He' is up there... - A few stairs going up towards a shop, while a painting of God braces the wall to the right.
Note: The different 'products' available at the shop upstairs is mentioned on each stair!

Curiously Yours - An old man watches curiously as I photograph the architecture of Old Delhi.

Time stands still - Purani Dilli (Old Delhi) seems to be running in it's own time-zone; it's a wonderful feeling, really. :-)

The Empty Streets...

Some superb shots there. Good thinking, good philosophy, combining together to get some nice photographs, both in colour and B/W. The image of India, a young boy lost in his thoughts, a man sleeping without a care in the world in front of closed shutters, posters of bikini clad Indian actresses on the walls portraying the daydreams of the masculine gender in this country, all beautifully portrayed by the lens of Aryan.
Thanks for coming and shooting.
Thanks also to Manfred for accepting to do this shoot with us. I hope he will share his photographs with us too. I will have to look at mine first. I have not even had time to look at them!

Really nice stuff albeit a tad oversaturated. So you guys went around Jama masjid/chawri bazar and sees ganj.
That ways, shouldn't we be exploring other areas of the walled city no?
But man, kudos to your discipline - I can never imagine processing and posting so many images so quickly :)

@Ken Da: Thanks! :) I am sure, like me, ALL of us are waiting to see the photographs that you and Manfred captured.
@Tau: Thanks Tau. Yes, a few photos are a tad over-saturated, but what the heck! :D And as far as discipline is concerned, I ALWAYS process the photographs (mostly) on the same day that I click them. That ways, the 'backlog' can be happily avoided! ;)

How did you guys get yourself to move out in this scorching heat??
That Buffalo shot, did you have to clean the lens after that shot :p

Thanks Techno. As for the heat, we generally go out early morning, say by 6:30am we are up and wide awake at our 'work'. That ways, not only do we avoid the scorching heat, but we also get a nice, diffused light till about 8am or thereabouts! :p
After the 'buffalo' shot, I didn't have to clean the lens, thankfully, although the 18-55mm was at it's closest focussing distance for that shot! :P :D

Aryan - Fantastic & crisp shots from Purani Dilli. IMHO, the saturated color brings out the depth and mood of the place which I likes. ;) Never visited Delhi, but can feel it has a very different time zone by looking at your pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Awaiting to see Ken & Manfred post their perspective of Purani Dilli & enthrall us all.

Clever, Aryan, you took the opportunity to be the first. A clever move. As you know we have lots of similar motives.
But anyway your pictures are absolutely great, also the decision to transfer some to b/w. I like also the chosen scenery as well as the captured atmosphere.
The only rap from my side as an architect could be the missing adjustment of the perspective of the Pandamonium picture. But that is also a question of taste.
It was a great (half) day with you. Nice for me now to know who stands behind this lens!
Best regards
Manfred

Hello Manfred, I hope you enjoyed the photo-walk with me and Ken da on an early Sunday morning! And believe me when I say I am ecstatic that you liked the photographs which I managed to click. As for the perspective in the photograph titled "Pandamonium", thanks for the critique. It would only help me improve. Thanks a lot. :)
More than you, I AM glad that I got an opportunity to shoot with a professional photographer. It's not everyday that one gets such an honor. Thanks a lot Manfred, for the wonderful time that I am sure we all had, on this photo-walk with you. I look forward to more such opportunities, whenever possible! I sure hope to see your share of photographs, soon. :)

Dear friends,
in the case you are looking for THE professional tool for perspetive alignment there is a tool on the market which I recommend to try out. It's called "Digitel Photo Shifter". Unfortunately provided on a German site only, didn't check whether it is available in English, here: http://www.deraltenburger.de/
Please use the download option for the stand alone Windows version and try it. If you are interested to use it and find the watermark "inconvenient" I am ready to send you the unlock key for the professional version. In that case please provide your personal email address.
Best regards
Manfred
