I wonder why no one though about that in this forum?
Is there anyone who can help me with a remote switch?
I want to capture some star and galaxy trails. I have a 1000D and would need a remote switch for the same.
Is it available in India? Cost? Is its worth it?
Also, can someone enlighten me on tripods?
About the cost and other important stuffs?

Maybe you should consult this thread: http://www.thephotographer.in/darkroom/showthread.php?t=429&highlight=astrophotography
And ask Dr Suresh for the real advice. Also Surya can be of great help since he builds telescopes and shoots stars too! :)

if u want to shoot star trails (yawn!..) then the set up is easy and cheap. Get any 500 bucks tripod. A remote wil not cost more than 1000 bucks.
If you want to get into telescopic (WOW!.) then get ready to shell out 6 figures. Follow the link given by ken.
