Fake Canon Battery from Authorized Canon Dealer (Mahatta & Co-New Delhi)

.Well,I got one battery for my Canon Ixus 950is from Mahatta &Co (he is an authorized canon dealer ) due to "low battery battery problem ",but the issue remained as it is .So,I felt my camera was at fault ,and gave it to Canon India service center Gurgoan (my camera is still under warranty till June 2010).that includes Camera and all its accessories including charger + batteries were given .Engg at canon service found camera + charger to be ok ,but found new battery to be fake .

On 20thmarch , I got replacement from Mahatta ,but the problem of low battery still persists .Now ,I'm stuck who to trust Canon service centre or his dealer .I really need help or else I will loose my faith in canon.

escalate to canon india. what is the doubt?

I have mailed an email to Canon customer support yesterday morning ,and yet to receive a response .Very slow IMO.

one thing is sure, if canon doesn't resolve this issue satisfactorily ,then for sure they will loose me as customer forever.

I am thinking how the canon service tagged the battery as fake?serial number,make,build?can u ask them identity factors?

why not check other canon dealers for battery?

If u get the factors of identifying batteries as fake then this escalates to a distributor problem.the dealers take from distributors,and if your area distributor itself is providing fake batteries then keep thrashing mails to canon.call them etc.

Other times in order to boost their own sales,service guys tend to tell customers that certain things are not good for cameras and stuff.happens with many electronic items.

You can also go to your reputed local camera repairman,show him battery and ask him whether its fake or not.this way you can actually path out way to find whether its the dealer or the distributor supplying fake batteries.

dont lose trust in your fav brand.

Well,I have got an aknowledgement from canon india today in the morning .I hope their concerned department calls me or reponds via email soon :).

I don't want to comment regarding mahatta until canon contacts me ,but if any of your relative planning to buy canon item .I will not recommend him or her to get from mahatta .just avoid that dealer .

get from compro computer ,nehru place or directly from canon.
