Good one, Out of curiosity, I have few OT Questions, I hope you wont mind answering.
1. Coorg Bride??? I thought its Groom, Slightly confused :? MangalSurta and Red over cloth might mean bride, but still overall the picture is more of groom to me :(
2. What is that big golden pendal? Look likes large size mangalsutra :(
3. Is he wearing something while over the shirt? What is it called? Also is the shirt having some special customary style?
4. I see something like kirpan on his waist, strangely this is very common in North as well. Wondering why was ever needed by the groom during wedding :p
5. What is the metalic band on waist called as?
6. What does the red cloth over the body called and symbolizes?
Sorry if some of my words are inappropriate to the context, but with full regards to the customs, these are some naive curiosity based query.
Thanks for details

1. Yes it is the groom..... I had composed the post with both Groom and Bride Pics....for some reasons I had to remove the bride pic....but I deleted the wrong caption... it was a typo... :|
2. It is not the mangalsutra... It is a traditional Coorg jewelery...the groom/bride wears it at the wedding.... This type of jewelery is only found in coorg.
3. Over the white shirt the groom wears a White Coat wrapped around... the shirt is a normal one... The groom wears a White dress, other relative wear Black colored one.
4. Similar to kripan, the coorgs use a gold/Silver coverd dagger... It is part of the traditional Coorg male Costume....The coorgs wear it at Weddings and festivals.
5. The metalic band is used to support a close combat weapon, which is fixed to the groom's waist at the backside. I do not know its name, the the weapon is called "Odi Kathi"...Kathi is for Sword.
6. Just like as in other indian coltures, the red is of utmost significance and the color most frequently used for auspicious occasions like marriages, birth of a child, etc
