Hello Friends,

What I am reporting here is something that I would not forget soon.
After being bitten by recent photography bug, today at eve, I climbed up to building terrace to click few sunset pics, I was on terrace and was trying to capture sun at maximum zoom etc, while I was on maximum zoom, given that FZ35 gives 18X optical to 72X Digital zoom I saw something bizarre while i was moving my camera to shoot around .... I saw something red..something deep orange ...flickering at a distance of over 300meters or so ...Zoomed in and woosh....It was a "FIRE" in an apartment, i was like oh god...i moved camera across, but could not see anyone running down or any fire tankers etc. My heart was pounding ...took my mobile out and dialed 100..nothing happen, tried again nothing happen ...and I was wondering how to dial 100 on mobile. Ditched the idea, called up at office and informed dad about the fire and asked him to call 100 from landline and report the issue, which he promptly did, meanwhile I was wondering what to do how do I inform the occupants, do they know it or not...and then within 5 mins the fire tankers arrived, still no sign of human beings, they must have already vacated probably. Then the unexpected happen, i saw someone running down the stair case, an old lady and then uncle from above floor. Probably they came to know about fire probably when they heard the fire tenders siren sounds etc....I was like oh god..save them plz..as they were suppose to cross a section which was close to fire...They made it and and I was happy. This was my first encounter with fire in an apartment, with people still holding in.

I am not sure if it was me or it was someone else, who helped in calling 100, but for sure I tried my best to ensure that peoples and lives get saved, rest is HIS will.

Few close ups at 18 to 72x zooms

Building was well equipped with Fire prevention system (as you can see in photos), but no one even bothered to use them, as you can see those fire extinguishers on each floor and there must be Fire prevention water outlet along with pipes/hose etc.

I was there to capture these, missed it, but not issues can get it done some other day ...

I think my camera made its worth if it has saved any life today.

Precisely. Your presence of mind, perhaps, helped saved a few priceless lives there. Kudos to you!

And those sunset shots are good too. :)

I am touched by the words from the community.

Fire started due a shot circuit in a body massaging recliner, which probably owner left switched on while moving to office. This soon took up the nearby sofaset, curtains, AC etc and grew very rapidly, as it was evening and most of the males where in office and the housewives where out on daily grocery shopping, hence there where just few residents there, majorly elderly couples and few others.

Residents didnt came to know about fire as they were sitting in closed house with AC on. It was probablly the smoke coming from AC or the Siren sound that made them realize the issue. The Fire Tenders did great job, no human loss or human damage was done. The flat was totaled and would need complete refurnish, and the pressure from those water pipes blew of all the things that where not effected by Fire.

@Aryan: Thx for the appreciation of sunset pics.
