Today, February 06, 2010, I alongwith a couple of friends of mine visited Chandni Chowk. I was there to click a few photographs, while they were there to savor the tastes of Old Delhi. :D

I wanted to give street photography a shot since long now, and here I share a few photographs of today's 'street-walk'. :)

Some very good photographs there! You seem to be living in a different time zone. Most of your posts are beyond midnight!

Thanks for the approval, Ken da. :)

Actually, I like to process the photographs that I click on the same day itself. If I go to bed without processing/ downloading the photographs (from the cam to the PC), I cannot sleep at night! :D Strange, but true.

If we are talking about favourites, Master of Repair, Inquisitive, Working Hard for a Living are easily my favourites. Mirror Image is also very good, but it has got nothing to do with street photography.

@Aryan-Except for one where the colours look a bit unnatural I liked all the other images. Very good set I must say. I think you can share your experience in the other thread started by Bibhudesh as to how was your experience this time round and how you approached the subjects (human elements) without distracting them.

Hey MG, thanks for the feedback. I think I know which photograph you are talking about here. It was colorful, but increased the saturation a little in Photoshop too. That gave it the 'unrealistic' feel, I believe, but what the heck! :D

As for my experience on how I went about shooting the human subjects, et al, majority of the photographs that you see in this set are shot from a low angle, without looking through the view-finder. They were shot from a waist angle. On the other hand, some of the photographs were shot looking through the view-finder. :D In those cases, I just went forward and started small-talk with the concerned person (my subject, so to speak). They really make you feel comfortable, and in the process they themselves become comfortable talking to you. And then, you just start shooting, while they keep doing what they were doing prior to you noticing them!

While leaving, just express your gratitude for letting you take the photographs that you required! :) Yes, it is that simple. ;)
