Name: Debarpita Mohapatra (archistar)

Profession: Architect

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D, 18-55 std. lens, raynox 250, Canon SX 100

Favourite Subjects: macro, nature and HDRI (now leaning towards it :D)

Objectives: Here to learn the basics and now ‘m leaned towards post processing. There was time when I was completely against it but later felt it is another face of creativity.

Favourite Photographer: Nicolas Chorier (kite arial photography) (some day I’ll learn this technique)

Background: With a hazy memory I can remember my fathers 1.5-2 KG weighted PENTAX camera which I never used. But I started clicking with a YASICA film camera in my school days and flowers were my favorite then. And then comes a KODAK KB10 for very few days and it was mainly used to click in family outings or functions and I was always to click the pictures and I was always given the chance. I used a SONY 3.2MP digicam for the firsttime but it was out of reach then coz my friend’s dad got it for some 20+K bucks. But it was the camera which I used more than my friend used :D. In the year 2002 I got admitted to B.Arch and got a computer and one CREATIVE webcam cum digicam (0.3 MP). It was the actual start when I started insane clicking coz I was free from ROLLs and I was carrying it 24x7. And it was dead after serving 2 precious years. And after it I got a SONY cybershot 3.2MP and a NIKON coolpix L2. The basic of photography was learned in the second year as we had a university paper for it. In-between these days I got a chance to use a VIVITAR ROLL SLR. It was my college’s property and I was using it for our photography classes as I had the maximum interest :D. We were also developing rolls in our own hands in our college days and it was real fun learning as it guided me towards BW and abstract photography. And with all these I came in to photography. As a travel bug I was always fascinated by nature and it was captured the most. I shared a good chemistry with the NIKON L2 before I got the CANON SX 100 in late 2007 as during this period I roamed a lot. More than a year after the SX 100 I got the 1000D and the safer continues……
So I can say I’m clicking with a differed vision since last two years and I feel I know less than 1% in photography and post processing.
And everyday I click some picture and spend some time in post processing as my favorite pastime.
Now just attempting to explore more in this creative field…..

huh… lots of text.. :O
