N°1 is Mehrangarh Fort Jodhpur, in the coronation courtyard. Typical example of Ranbanka Rathor architecture of which we find even finer traces in Bikaner (same family).
However I fail to recall the 2nd photograph. You know why, because the 2nd photograph does not portray "architecture" the way it is supposed to. Most of the message of architecture is lost in that photograph!

Shore Temple , Mahabalipuram
The Shore Temple (700-728 CE) is so named because it over looks the Bay of Bengal. It is a structural temple, built with blocks of granite, dating from the 8th century AD. It was built on a promontory sticking out into the Bay of Bengal at Mamallapuram, a tiny village south of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The village was a busy port during the 7th and 8th century reign of the Pallava dynasty during the reign of Narasimhavarman II.

Place looks interesting! Also an interesting retro treatment.
Yes Kenda, place is interesting. There's hills & small waterfalls surrounding the region during monsoon with lush green carpet all around. The view from the top of the minaret is amazing.

To add to the reason for strange distortion, it is also bcoz I cropped them from a 12mm shot. and IIRC I tried removing the distortion and ctrl+z'ed it. Seems something else got undone lol!..

If that in not an HDR, then it has to be a composite of two different exposures.
With such a bright sky behind it, that mineret would be a back lit subject, and I cannot understand you could so perfectly expose both of them:confused::confused:

However just FYI, this is a Roman style structure from very early Renaissance of Italy. But I am not sure where this would be from, Rome or the Tuscan region. This would be late 15th or early 16th century structure. Not later.

This majestic old palace is 63kms from Thiruvananthapuram. It is situated at Thucklai, on the way to Kanyakumari. This palace was once the capital of the State of Travancore. The palace is built in the Travancore architectural style. This is famous for its 17th and 18th century murals, carved mahogany ceiling, colored mica windows, secret underground passages, inner courtyards, durbal hall, museum, four poster medicinal bed, Belgian mirror, pictures of Lord Krishna, granite dance halls and special black shiny floors which are made from a unique combination of egg white, jaggery, lime, burnt coconut, charcoal and river sand.

Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam
The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam,Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, a reclining form of Lord Vishnu. It is the first and foremost among the 108 Divya Desams, the holy abodes of Lord Vishnu. It is also considered to be one among the eight Svayam Vyakta Ksetras ("self-manifested shrines") of Lord Vishnu
Srirangam temple is often listed as the largest functioning Hindu temple in the world (Angkor Wat being the largest non-functioning temple). The temple occupies an area of 156 acres (631,000 m²) with a perimeter of 4,116m (10,710 feet) making it the largest temple in India[2] and one of the largest religious complexes in the world. The temple is enclosed by 7 concentric walls (termed prakarams or mathil suvar) with a total length of 32,592 feet or over six miles. These walls are enclosed by 21 Gopurams. The space within the outer two prakarams is occupied by several shops, restaurants and flower stalls. For this reason, other massive Hindu temples like Chidambaram (Nataraja swamy Temple), Tiruvannamalai (Annamalaiyar temple), Meenakshi Amman Temple, Tirunelveli Nellaiappar Temple claim to be the biggest Hindu temples (Note - all these magnificent temples are entirely dedicated for the religious rituals and are "massive" in every sense of the word - size, grandeur and the accompanying traditions).
Among the marvels of the temple is a Hall of 1000 Pillars (actually 953) which has intricately carved stone pillars.

Let us not get into details of architecture of what is a covered mosque and open mosques and their histories!!! :)
Exif shows Coolscan IV.
Lovely shot. Where were you to shoot this photograph? Which vantage point?
I shot from a viewing gallery. You can see it in this picture taken from opposite side.

Very nicely balanced HDR. Even though I am not a fan of HDR's pictures because some go overboard with exposure, I like your picture.
For me the only problem is over sharpening.

Thanks for the tip, Hensil. What happened is that I sharpened again after scaling the image down, which it did not need.
Here's one of Bibi Ka Makhbara in Aurangabad. Again a 3-exposure HDR processed in Photomatix.

Hi,
It seems you have mastered the technique of HDR. Perfect blending. The best part is, it does not look like an HDR but one original picture.
Well done.
Henry

looks so balanced, no shadows, no overexposed areas.
I can say this is the first(of what I have seen) set of pictures here - where HDR is used at the right place for the right purpose. Good Art Work there!

I have not posted my Eiffel Tower shot here yet... My shots are not half as good as the earlier one shot by Henry (Hensil)...
However I do present an architecture shot of the BMW HQ in Munich, the building with the 4 cylinders that quite a few of your might be familiar with...

@Ken Da: I love that shot. :) Here is one from my end, although I am not sure whether it does belong here or not. :p This was clicked at the Bandra-Worli sea-link from a moving vehicle, as cars are not allowed to stop on the bridge. :(The vignetting and the 'spots' that you see is because it was clicked through the car wind-shield.

Yes, your shot fits perfectly here. I personally would have preferred a good contrasty B/W. :)

Nice shot. Nice PP. Good for advertising.
But since I know this place probably better than my living room, I know that these are not the colours of the place! :)
But as I said... good shot.

Shore temple. Mamallapuram
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7161/6469768419_0a110e232d_b.jpg
The Shore Temple (700-728 AD) is so named because it overlooks the Bay of Bengal. It is a structural temple, built with blocks of granite, dating from the 8th century AD. It was built on a promontory sticking out into the Bay of Bengal at Mahabalipuram, a village south of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The village was a busy port during the 7th and 8th century reign of the Pallava dynasty during the reign of Narasimhavarman II.[1]
As one of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram, it has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[2] It is one of the oldest structural (versus rock-cut) stone temples of South India.[1].....
