Salton Sea California

my friend Monty and I reached Bombay beach around 6:30 on january first.
It was since a little while that i wanted to go back to this Salton Sea area.
When I talked about it with Monty he wanted to join even if I went during
the night of the new year; He answered "it's all good i don't have anything special to do for this date"

What photographs Zwaltek! Your work simply proves that it isn't the camera, lenses or the equipment; it's more about how one "sees" the environment around him/ her. Simple things can be "seen" differently, if you are creative enough!

ALL the photographs magnificent. However, I just LOVED the 9th photograph. WHAT a photograph! TREMENDOUS work, overall, Zwaltek. Shows clearly the difference between a professional photographer like you and an amateur like me. :)

Hope to learn a lot from you, and in the process see more of your brilliant work!

I was a bit desperate to see this topic approved, since i posted it on january third ! I thought i had done something, wrrroooong :P
Anyway better late than never, right ?

why is it called "bombay beach"?

I have no idea Anvancy. There's also a Paris lost in the middle of Texas.
I don't know for sure but i have my little ideas. USA is not a so old country and it's also a huge country. Then i guess that there's not enough historical events, people in there own history to name cities, places or streets. Then i think it's easier to take names from all over the place. Also it's country made of all the different nationalities coming from every directions, so using names from different countries does make sense as well. that's only my opininon .

About Salton Sea, I wrote a text in French, based on documentations found online and my own experience, but i have to admit that i don't have the courage to translate it now. So here's a link to the wikipedia page for Salton Sea. It's interesting.

Good stuff! However I would recommend you to post no more than 1024 px wide and watermarked (must!) photos due to obvious reasons!
