Yummy! :D The first shot is good, although a little distracting. However, I am not at all into food photography; haven't tried it much to post. However, will try and find a few shots that I might and share with one and all. :)
Thanks for the thread, by the way Ruffryder.

Great shots! How did I miss these?
This snap of simple lunch was taken at Jalgaon.
This would have been better had you toned down the brightness by making minus 2/3EV or reduced the power of your flash by 2/3. You would have got more vivid colours and more contrast on your plate/leaf!

You are a good cook too!
I liked 1 and 3. However I would not hesitate to mention as well that in both photographs, the onions look overexposed and the lemon details are missing. It is difficult to shoot in such contrasting food textures.
Good job though.

why so much shine on it amanomics?
@Rajr: as an analysis, what lighting you used to light the above photo?

@anvancy >> It was the basic tube-light and camera flash.

Next time you shoot it,
A little trick to use.
Keep your tubelight on for the ambient.
No flash.
Take those LED torch or so.Put it in front of a nice white cloth for a proper diffusion and move the light around the food during a long exposure.

why so much shine on it amanomics?
the surface of the food, oil over it, plus the light from the window.. guess that is where the shine's coming from!

However the highlights need to be toned down further.
