Precisely! That is what I was TOTALLY looking at. I got super-excited looking at the title of this thread. But, nonetheless, I am not at all disappointed. Some good use of the 150mm macro lens there, Vicky. :) Beautiful portrait work. Thanks for sharing.

As a newbie, i was shocked to see potraits in (what i thought to be) a macro thread.

I'm totally new to SLRs, can someone please explain how these macro lenses function :confused:

@Crazy Pics: The macro lenses work just like any other lens, with the only difference that these can focus to real close distances as compared to other "general purpose lenses".

Except for the Canon MP-E 65mm, which can solely be used for macro photography (from 1x [Life-Size] to 5x [5 times life-size]), virtually any other macro lens can be used as a "normal lens" as well. :)
