Yes. I believe Repoublic day celebration should start early only sat 8 AM. If not then we plan something else.

Yes, it opens at 6am. From 6am to 9am there is no entry fee and after 9am, they now have a entry fee of Rs. 30/- per person and Rs. 5/- for two wheeler parking and Rs. 20/- for 4 wheeler parking. The entry fee has been increased due to the ongoing "Flower Show".

I had been to Lalbagh today at 4Pm..There were more people than flowers..
the staff were discouraging photography inside the glass house because people spent time standing in one place and it blocked the way for another 5000 people behind us. :o

Get your Macro lens.....if you have one
I was missing my fuji5700. it has a very good Super macro capability..

Sun rise is around 6:15 to 6:30 AM...
There will be very low light inside the Glass House till 8AM+, Bigger(lesser by number :) ) aperture lens would also help

There are 3 gates to get inside..

I would prefer the Siddapura Entrance near ashoka pillar-jayanagar.
Can park the vehicles out and walk inside....It will help us to take our vehicles out easily at 9AM... There will be a thousands cars in Queue by then.

Devaiah, i was there from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The crowd was a bit less at that time. I thought of going inside the glass house but scrapped the idea as there were hundreds of people snapping away to glory with their camera phones.. :p

I was happy till i transfered the pic to my pc. There is a black patch on all the pics at the right hand side. I wonder if its sensor dust or if the sensor is damaged. I tried looking throught the viewfinder but there is no problem with that. So i guess the lens is not the problem right ?
I have a warranty for the body, will it cover sensor damage if thats the case ?
Please advice. :(

If you cannot see it through the VF, but it shows up in the shots, then this must be a foreign body on the sensor. Looks too big too be a dust spot though.

Open up the lens... Switch to manual sensor cleaning mode. the mirror will retract to give you a view of the sensor. If you see a tiny piece of plastic or something on the sensor... then invert the camera such that the lens mount is facing towards the floor and then blow into the sensor with a rocket blower taking care not the physically touch anything with the tip of the blower.

If this does not help, then you should take this to the service center.

Yes this was a good opportunity for us to know each other...

Thanks to Prakash(Surya) for his guidance....I learned how to control Speed and Aperature. Result is attached.

Thanks Vicky. Glad u liked them. I am still in the process of understanding this Tamron. There are drawbacks and advantages. Though its a f/2.8 but the sharpest point is ONLY f/8. I have observed anything more or less and I loose sharpness greatly.

The third shot u are saying the cropping is quite tight is it? I cropped it thinking u guys might comment to crop it if it was shown uncropped LOL!.

It was indeed a very interesting meet. And to my surprise there were more Nikonians than Canonians LOL!.
The knowledge sharing by surya was really nice. The good thing was that all of us were totally like minded people :), so the company was highly co-operative, friendly and interactive. I enjoyed to the core.

Not even once we felt that we are meeting for the first time :).

Good morning,

Let me apologize for being late in reporting the G2G of the Bangalore Chapter of the TPIN.

The Day was 26th Jan 2010....As designated I was at Raghvendra mutt 2nd phase J.P. Nagar at 5.40 in the morning....Little later I was joined by Devaiah and Bibudesh.

By 6am we were in Lalbagh, met DJ and Nakul...Perfect timing...we all introduced ourselves....and the comradeship had begun....

We headed to the monolith rock which is the landmark of Lalbagh...to witness the sunrise....It was a dull and late sunrise...did manage to take few silhouettes.

I did not have my DSLR..gear...as it was busy in another project. I took all the pic. in my PS...CANON ELPH SD770 IS.

we had a leisure walk around the huge lake and headed towards the flower show...which was not open...we decided to give it a go...and later bibudesh did manage to get a peek at it.

We split for B'fast at around 9am...all in all it was a gathering of like minded guys....who had no problem whatsoever in gelling and sharing their ideas..

Thanks buddy. M on the way learning to use this macro lens. It gives really soft images at anything bigger/smaller than f/8.
I needed a faster shutter to get the bee, so bigger aperture :(

300mm+ Zoom lens is a must.....if you do not want to be disappointed later..

I walked into ranganatittu with a 18-105mm :( . From the river side this is all I could get at 100% crop.....

Boat ride could have taken me near to the birds...but I had no time for that..

Sitting on the river side with a 300mm+ and a tripod can get very good results....

Surya, your 100-400mm on a APS-C can take the photographer eye-to-eye with the birds. :)

Brilliant story of change in times.....in the first pic. the tree is Bald...in the second pic.the person is bald....:):) 3 months is a very short time to get old...but its happened according to the pic.
