Name: Krishnendu aka KEN/Kenny
Profession: Tourist Guide (Retired) (Northern Region, Cultural, inbound francophone tourists only. Edit; Currently building a Destination Management Company.

Equipment: Canon EOS 5D, 24mm f2.8, 85mm f1.8, 200mm f2.8

Favourite Subjects (of Photography): Street, Faces, People

Intended Objectives: This is a tough one, makes you reflect. I intend to learn some amount of Post Production to make my work more presentable, along with keeping up my learning of this medium that has remained so enigmatic for me despite so many years.

Favourite Photographers: Steve MCCURRY, Henri Cartier BRESSON, Raghu RAI

A Little Background: Krishnendu KES, known to some people as Kenny and to others as Ken. I by no means can or will call myself a photographer. I tried developing an interest in photography in the mid 80s with the help of my father and a Russian camera which was not a Zenith. In this field I have been essentially an autodidact. And fortunately I have been in touch with some really very good photographers for the past decade and more, who have been in the field of photojournalism and this has influenced some of my work. Which is why most of my work is on the street trying to capture action and people, their faces and expressions. I have always hoped that meeting such great photographers and seeing their work would rub off on me. Unfortunately that has not been the case. I am and probably forever will struggle with correct framing, evaluating light and colours, getting distractive elements out when I frame my subject. Today, thanks to a lot of help and advice from one of my photographer friends, I have managed to acquire over time a decent camera, some decent glass. And as far as digital Post-processing is concerned, my knowledge in this area is close to non-existent. And I do realise this immense lacuna. I am working towards getting this lacuna filled with some workable knowledge of getting my pictures in better presentable shape.

Some of my work:

Welcome welcome! I think Ken has the distinct advantage over all of us in the fact that his job requires him to visit exotic places. :D

That's one HELL of a lens line up. :D Damn.

Looking forward to more photos from you. The best part about your photos for me is the element of reality. It doesn't look like its a photograph from a photographer at first glance, but more like its a photo FOR enjoyment in some way. Then you look at the execution, and how its made to look so effortless.

Thanks Manas. I hope to live up to your expectations.

And yes, that lens lineup was built more than a decade ago. I have tried out new glass, recent lenses... and my verdict; good glass stays good for a very long time!

Absolutely agree with powerslave.

More pics please!

You will get them... in due time... in a relevant context.

Thanks for the Welcome! :)

I do not maintain my lenses. I just use them. That is all I do. Though from the day I buy my lens, I keep a skylight 1B filter permanently on it, forever.

Yes it is true, that in my earlier Zuiko lenses, which were very sharp, after a couple of years, I started noticing fungus on them. Nothing I could do about it other than get them cleaned from a qualified technician. But these EF lenses, I never had any problems, and I do not think I will have problems either.

PS; I notice that you use a FM10, a legendary piece of equipment.

I figured as much. And I really do not have any fungus so far. And I have been to really humid places with my lenses. If you think that you are losing clarity because of excess fungus, all I can say is get them cleaned from a proficient technician periodically.

Does your Nikkor have fungus too?

Edited my profession. Realised that it needed to be changed since I retired last year.
