Thanks Manav...i know i am going to learn a lot here...

Infact i did try out both Canon 400D and Nikon D40X and my personal choice was the D40X as i personally felt it produced the colors a bit more accurately than the 400D (Its just my personal observation). Also it also got better reviews in the value for money category.
