Thanks Ken, Thats nearly SOOC using the 18-55mm kit lens. Its quite difficult to get a realistic effect of a scaled model in an open environment.
nice series sp!

Are all of them SOOC?
They are all quite brilliant. I am gonna show these pix to my son. He has been trying to shoot scale models without much success. Thanks for sharing this series. Do give us some details of the background etc.

Thanks ken.
The fourth one which u liked is a SOOC+ACR (level and curves thats it). Others are either SOOC+ ACR or HDR using single RAW.
The background is something u have to handle quite cleverly. e.g. shot #4 in second set, its my apartment verandah wall with marble border. Nothing special. I worked with the shadow adjustment to make them look like rugged textured wall.
shot #1- I had to add lotza vignette coz there was a flower pot in background which I was unable to crop.
shot#3- Its utilizing the marble flooring to get the reflection. I just polished the floor using a dry cloth.
The first shot in the first set, the dried grass thing what u can see is actually the drawing room carpet :-D .
And the last shot in the same set is the same black 2by2 blouse piece :-D ..
One thing I have learnt while shooting this scaled model is the efficient usage of wide angled lens and avoiding the macro lens. I first started shooting using the Tamron, but all the shot got a toy like feel due to shallow DOF. The 18-55mm gave a barrel distortion and better DOF which added to a realistic feel .

Thanks Bibu. So you are putting the blouse piece to good use. I thought as much. Thanks for all the details. Though I still wonder how you managed to get the house carpet look like dried grass with just Curves!! :)

The Carpet shot is a HDR. The grass thing is the golden fur of carpet which is quite long.
