I just love this guy's style.

Have look: http://www.eastonchang.com/

Australian car photographer Easton Chang, prides himself in his complete involvement in the photography workflow - from conception through visualisation to the final digital image. Easton shoots only cars, and exclusively in the digital medium, using both 35mm and Medium Format Digital.
Easton's list of clients have included Audi, Jaguar, Mazda, CAR, Wheels, Motor, Car and Driver and Street Machine.
Aware of the importance of allying his digital post-processing to his photographic images, Easton is constantly developing and introducing new ideas and techniques through his work.
Gold Award International Aperture Awards
x3 AIPP APPA Silver Award 2008
x1 AIPP APPA Distinction Silver Award 2008
x2 Honourable Mention IPA 2008

Any ideas on how does he get the final output?

Awesome photos. The colours are so vivid.....

Dow do you get tht effect where the point of focus is clear & the rest is blurred. This effect is helpfull to show the speed of the object i guess....

Ok here are some of my favourite shots from Kunal Khadse's collection. He is absolutely brilliant as only car photos are being discussed here am only posting 1 bike picture. Its absolutely beautiful and if you notice closely the 220 & 200's riders are the same these are actually 2 shots PP into one. Amazing!

Manav: With all due respect the photos you have posted do not come anywhere close to Easton Chang.

The Honda City photos look good because of the locale rather than any technique involved. Just my humble opinion :)

EDIT: Just checked Andy Wee, he is brilliant as well!

nice pic ..really !!!

i think its heavily photoshopped and the original files have been very huge as every minute details have been taken care of!!

I agree sunny, it just baffles me with what kind of equipment he must be working with. Of course the vison forms the baises for the final output. The equipment is just a tool. Just wanted kunals photos to be seen too, as I can imagine the setting and relate to the hardware he has. Chang is to a certain extent unreal.

@Sunny- I think u can give it a shot using ur 10-22mm !

The pics are good indeed but does not seems to be unachievable provided u have right equipment and software (which u have)...

@speed pujari: I will be insane if i even think of coming anywhere even light years closer to Chang's results with my 10-22! Not only it requires serious setup, but also loads of experience and knowledge.

Unfortunately, here in India, the photographers are provided with some good cameras and lenses (even that is a big thing) without specialist equipments. Though I have some very good photos and concepts in BSMotoring earlier. Most of the photos in India auto mags are pathetic compared to mags abroad, specially UK.

Agreed about the Indian mag pic quality, even the articles are crap in mags like overdrive/top gear/auto india etc. top gear tops in that..

Anyways, but still dude I feel u shud give it a try ... CS3 is there to handle the rest ..
m saying this after seeing the chopper photo u have posted long back (which was taken using canon 18-55mm kit), if possible can u plz post it here?

m seeing the Subaru pic again and again , and still thinking it IS achievable .. A PP motion blur is easily identifiable.

Tht's one truth uve to face Sunny, take a look at the pics in the "First Impression" thread. Those would be enough to change your mind. I yet remember the Daijya helmets photos (Pardon me if u didnt shoot them)

@Speed: Is there ny way tht subaru's, motion blur can be done without PP. My tiny brian say noo, but then tooo......

To start of with, Easton Chang uses a Mamiya, else he uses the "cheaper" canons on bigger rigs.(here read 5d and 1D :D )
And the Rigs he uses!!!some tower to almost 20ft from the ground!!!
Amazing equipment!!

I think u are right dude.. even I too tried but couldn't make it. Maybe ppol who have more experience with CS3 have more to comment.
I think rig will be the necessary stuff to get that level of effect.
