i have college from monday to saturday.saturday only 2 lecs but still load is tremendous.the commitments in post grad are different,in job different.in a job you can do kalti saying i am not feeling well.post grad if u say i am not feeling well,ur attendance goes..in short you miss some imp lec.
many times it happens that when we decide that ok today we will bunk.(we as in us)that day only some important work has to come up.

so i came from college, and my friend phoned me.the rains were pretty slow.not a havoc.sun was shining.he said lets go to lavasa.he wanted to drive his swift through the mutha ghats and lavasa ghats.so off we went at 3pm to lavasa.

rains had made things green all over.and green i mean the green that you get in the rainy season only.

the breeze was cool.the smell of the soil was fresh.overall enjoying the ride.

as we were climbing up,drizzling had started.not heavy but small portions of rain.

mountains were also nice lush green.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2588/3787535727_5141f8dc1e.jpg

the day was an overcast.the clouds had formed in their signature firey form.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2450/3788345336_41aefc6d1f.jpg

there are en number of curves on the route.and my friend was happy driving on those.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2476/3788345752_ea8db778a9.jpg

our ride.

as we progressed up,the intensity of the rains strengthened.but it was fall and stop, fall and stop situation.so when it used to stop,we used to get out.

do you think anybody will go 30kmph on this beautiful road??

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3461/3788346648_cc32e45761.jpg

as we reached the top.we were greeted with this.the fog was very dense.visibility was very poor.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2638/3788346956_210c88f0bc.jpg

entering the unknown.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3503/3787538045_e033fbf897.jpg

one of those road signs..life is full of twists and turns.

once you enter lavasa, you are greeted with en number of waterfalls.

the one we liked was this.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2483/3787538339_595067f9ef.jpg

went down till their country club area.

they have their own small dam where watersports are conducted.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2524/3787538791_eeea520a43.jpg

water flowing out of that dam.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3575/3787539233_d847abd9e6.jpg

apparently my friend tried to stop the car from rolling over.(dont worry..its just a pose.)

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3487/3788348712_b754316840.jpg

distortion.

now started the car photo shoot.bear with the wierdo blur of number plates.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2669/3788349100_d606d0ac68.jpg

clouds played a big role in these.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2490/3788349348_7cb3b9f4ff.jpg

the Demon.waiting for its power to be unleased.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2482/3788349570_48bfbec874.jpg

taken in heavy rain.the rain up there was brutal.immense heavy.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2428/3788349934_9bf98b59b6.jpg

we stopped for eating butta..(corn.)rains means corn.but sadly this corn was not that good.these people bring from villages down and sell at a higher price since the public coming up here is large.the smoke of the charcoal makes the eyes burn.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2499/3788350178_91dc9c1dd7.jpg

this was taken just before we start the descent to the dam.

and finally shot at mutha ghats.the sky had opened up.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2505/3788350452_3c6fc1597e.jpg

overall a nice trip.

i was constantly wiping off the drops on my lens.but rains had other plans.so just did the opposite.i drenched my camera.and the fuji surprised me.it stood well.

none of these are HDRs.played with the shadow highlights in PS.

thanks for looking.

ken like my friend says..even if you go on a trip..click 100s of photos and share and even if one is liked by some..you do a good job.photography is such a field that nobody will like each and everybody's shots.
anyways do tell me what you didnt like.

thanks rio, none of them are HDR.

Now that is surprising. Seeing the dynamic range in some of them, I was nearly sure that some of them were HDRs!

I agree about the 100 photos part. Often I come back from a trip and I do not like a single photograph taken.

Nice set, but almost all the photographs are way TOO over-processed. But, then, that is how you like your photographs I believe.

ken: when there are enough clouds, they give you a proper diffused lighting system.coupled that with sun playing hide and seek, you get unique lighting only available during the rainy days.enough data is present for the camera to capture which then can be revealed during the shadow highlight process.i used slow- synchronization flash mode in some of the car shots.for example where the car is standing..ie below the distortion shot.i have read that even if there is SUN directly available, use either direct or slow synchro flash to fill the light with uniformity.

and i dont need to explain to you these things..you already are a pro in this field..:)..meri kyu kheech rahe ho??:p

aryan: thanks..and yes i am seriously not one of those happy with SOOC shots one.thanks for having a look.

The list of the ones that I liked... and the reasons...

1 and 2 are good. 4 is * quality. 5 is your style of overprocessing that people often reproach you of but I like this one. 10 and 11 are again * quality! 14 and 15 are nice as well, similar nice overprocessing that I happened to like here. And 19 as well which can be used for a Swift ad like some others as well with some more work!

Straight Out Of Camera

means absolutely no post processing at all... not even cropped!

many say..its not the camera but the photographer that is important.

actually its how u blend with your equipment thats more important.ur mind and the cam are the team.not your mind alone.

@aryan:like vicky said..these click and instantaneously upload them without any editing.for some editing is a taboo.post production is a thing that tastes different from viewer to viewer.just like a film.you dont like all films do you??

Actually, most of the editing tools you see in LR/ PS etc. are based on techniques used in the darkroom. Anyone who is under the impression that professional film based photographers don't do any processing on their pics are fairly naive, I'd say.

So true!

Like the times when you post a nice photo here, the first comment you get is "did you do any PP on this?" or "is it original or PP'd?":(

Many still consider post processing as a 'taboo', and I personally feel that its just another case of 'ignorance is bliss':(

So damn true! And I absolutely detest such naivety!

which gets me to a flame war I wanna start.

Of Nikon and Canon, which gives sharper more saturated results SOOC.
I have zero patience to do any sort of PP.

PS: currently in love with the D300 - now to see how the D80/90 feels

As I said to you on Gtalk earlier, all cameras have a lot of settings to take rich, vibrant pics which need no post processing, if tweaking them later is not your thing. Nikon and Pentax are one step ahead of the rest because of the extensive retouching options they have in cam.

If your budget permits, go for the D300. The sensor may be the same as the D90, but trust me, the feel is a world apart.

...and the D90 is a very solid feeling camera to start with.

Maybe we can take this to Hitanshu's Query thread! :)
