Hi Guys,

Here are some pic. of TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE taken from Bodh Gaya

You can see the Gradual phase of Sun being eclipsed by Moon....In the totality pic. you can see Red rim ...which consists of Baileys Beeds. and Solar Prominence. the outer flares are Solar Corona...

Clouds did play a spoil sport. But we were lucky to view it...b'cos ..our location was spot on....few kilometer on either side it was a complete washout...

It was spectacular event and event of my life...!!!

All pic. shot with 50d + 100-400L IS USM...+ 1.4TC.. placed on a Manfrotto Tripod...Exposure range from 1/4 sec. to 1/6400 sec...@ 100 iso...

It was a very tricky exposure to play with.

Thanks srikeerthi, for your appreciation....More than anything its the shear timing and exposure calculations that's important....It just keeps changing in a jiffy....

Exposing Sun at an angle of more than 20 degrees with its full brightness without any filter is asking for trouble....Its so bright...U cant use the view finder....I also had the fear ....that it might harm the sensor and delicate electronics...b'cos Ur focusing the sun's heat directly in the lens Barrel...

Different phase of Eclipse requires different timing....even tho the ambient light remains same...except during the totality...

During Totality U have to read for the outer Corona....as well as the baylies beeds ( those Red thing on the rim of the Sun) and Solar Prominence ...

During totality the exposure ...was some where around 1/3s...and suddenly it shoots to 1/6400-8000s....

U have to be extremely fast in changing the settings and also previewing...

In my case the clouds added another dynamic factor in constantly changing the exposure values...too & fro...

Hope I have not boored U guys with these tech. Info..
