I had a very short visit to coorg last weekend to literally forget the office woes I had been having post marriage.
I had not been clicking for past quite some time which was adding to my restlessness and insecure feeling of forgetting the tricks and techniques.
Friday I read a posting from rio about photography after rain, in spite of raining bullets over him due to some copyright issues, I found that post to be inspiring - Thanks rio008 ;) ..

So it happened so fast that I read his post at 5.30 pm the friday evening, 6 o'clock I booked the hotel room at madikeri and saturay 5 AM I started for coorg with my better half.

---------------------
I think putting up a travelogue will not be suitable in this forum so I'll better stick to photographs .

Also I must apologize that this time the number of shots are very less due to heavy rain at coorg, and I'll be sharing them at regular intervals due to jam packed work schedule.
Photos will be minimally post processed.

----- I warmly welcome you guys for your critique and comments to improve the quality of shots, please do share your opinions for post processing --

So here goes the teasers - which are the only processed ones ..

Shot at Namdroling Monastry, Byalukuppe.

Very interesting shots there SP. With your shots if you could also give us a little background on what they are... most of us do not have a clue of what Namdroling Monastry is!

Thanks.

so here my life becomes difficult. Thanks for the compliments ken.
There was a ceremony happening there that day. The place was crowded with people from around the world, and somehow I got permission to take some shots of the proceedings. I got hold of a monk who to my surprise was talking in a kannada style hindi. I forgot the name of ceremony(it was not Losar) as it was a tongue twister, but he said its an annual festival was meant for peace of soul

About Namdroliing Monastry- Courtesy Wikipedia
The monastery was established by throne-holder Kyabje Penor Rinpoche in 1963, following his 1959 exit from Tibet as the second seat of the Palyul Monastery, one of the six great Nyingmapa Mother monasteries of Tibet prior to annexation.

The monastery's full name is Thegchog Namdrol Shedrub Dargyeling, called "Namdroling" for short. Its initial structure was a temple constructed from bamboo, covering an area of approximately eighty square feet. Carved from the jungle that the India government generously granted Tibetan exiles, initial challenges included rampaging elephants and other tropical dangers.

EDIT: About the equipment-
All the shots except the fruit shot were taken using D40 with kit 18-55mm lens. The fruit shot was using a 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Did you use a fill in flash in shot n°2? The pool photograph is really nice. So is n°1. Thanks for the info on Namdroling. Did not know that there are such Monasteries in the South.

Thanks ken. I did not use fill flash for that shot. it was a flower tree and I shot it from beneath.

Come again, I'll take u this time :) ..

I am very happy that u guys liked the shots :) ..

During festivals there are lots to shoot in the monastery which can suit every line viz street photography, macros, abstracts, still life, landscape, architecture etc. A full day trip will leave you with a 4 GB card full of images.

While framing the shots I use to keep every taste of people in this forum, and on that basis I classified the shots. I am still hunting time to work on other images.
Keep watching as few of them are still in the queue :) and I hope u guys may like them.
I tried my hands on street photography too this time... wil try to share it today.

There is nothing abstract about it. It is good work. Period. On the 2nd pic there, you can do a shadow highlight of the Monks sitting in rows. Just a suggestion, it might not turn out nice.

So give us more of what you did. Buddhist Monasteries in festival time or otherwise do present a lot of photo ops.
