Photo Critique Approved

The first one is Out of Focus. The others are coming along. The third one is not a bad Macro for a point&Shoot camera. But I will let the biggies of Macro speak here.

Look at the Macro threads by Anvancy and Aryan. There is a lot to see. The first one is not Macro "enough" for me and the image is not sharp. I am sure with repetition and practice you will get there.

At macro distances, a little hand shake can spoil a potential classic! Make sure your shutter speed is in the high hundreds if you want a sharp picture, although it is not always really neccessary to keep such a high shutter speed (if you use a tripod).

Which camera are you using? P&S cameras can actually click pretty neat macros. But, in this case the first picture is out of focus, the second one is confusing me, perhaps because of the abundant bright colors, while the third one is the best of this lot.

Do click some more, and post them. :) And welcome to the world of macros! :D

As the others have already stated, Pic 1 is OOF and Pic 2 is very busy and confusing. Pic 3 is definitely the best of the lot. It is the only one which comes close to being a macro whereas the other 2 are plain close up shots. Loved the composition and DoF on the 3rd one :)

3 has come in the acceptable range.

1 and 2 are out.in 2 the colors are just pouncing on the eyes.

were u blocking the light while taking the shot?

A suggestion: While submitting images for critique, it's always better to post a smaller resolution version. Especially of macro shots. The side to side scanning of the picture we do to see a big picture in its entirety doesn't really help one arrive at a conclusion easily.

OT : Synn, what's the size of your comp's monitor?

19 inches, 1680x1050. Not exactly starving for real estate. :p

my point stands, nonetheless. Big sized images make it harder to focus on the whole image.

Oh ok!
Do you have to scroll sideways to see the pics in this thread in its entirety?

No, i don't.

Again, it's much easier to "Get" the picture if one was able to focus on the whole image in one shot.
