I'm Sanjiban
Here in Delhi since '95, now at Vasant Kunj
Married
Age -- increasing!
Studies - From Santiniketan (WB) and JNU (New Delhi) in Mandarin Language
Now Photography -- I've been looking at the kids in my class who had cameras (I don’t differentiate between P&S and SLR/DSLRs, I've seen people working wonders with P&Ss) in awe and sometimes feeling lucky when I could get my fingers on the shutter. Somehow the idea of borrowing a camera from someone else didn't appeal to me. So I didn't have a camera till I was 28. I could shoot, taking a photo here and there thinking of how to make them better. Sometimes I had the chance to look at a professional Photograph and think “wow!! " then tried to copy. Sometimes it worked out sometimes it didn't :).
Then one fine day my closest friend, gave an offer, what do you want? A suit or a Camera?? Hello ??!! I was floored. So I got a brand new Camera,a dreamy Canon EOS 66 with a 35-80 variable canon lens. Finally !! I had one for my own. It's a SLR, and film is costly business. So here I am, a beginner with a SLR shooting thrifty. :).
(Saving now for another .... )
My subject is Life, so nearly anything goes. I have realised that even the absence of the subject can be interesting too. I love animals, so shoot them a lot and landscape. However, I like to shoot portraits, moods, basically. It somehow tells you a story, a very hazy kind of story which may or may not have happened.
I shoot in natural light, don’t like artificial much. I Like to see the result of Natural Light’s conversation with the Silver Nitrate. They fight, they quarrel, go hand-in-hand ... all are very interesting.
I have attached 3 of my photos - I have no Idea if they are my best (as the guideline said) or not. You need to tell me that. I am here wishing that you criticise my photos and tell me what I could have done or should do.
Above said lenses are now joined with 2 of their friends, a fixed 20mm and an old 200 mm. They travel together and are friends as well as colleagues. The 200 doesn't like the boss much. So he's a bit loosely fitted. Also, he had an accident in Israel so cant wear a filter.
That's all for now. Hoping moderators will let me know the further requirements
Best,
Sanjiban
