HI everyone...
I always keep wondering how people like Easton Chang,Scott Chu , Scott dukes etc etc get those amazing shots!!!Then again came the part with the equipment.. those rigs they use!!!and yes extensive post processing.Well its not solely that but also the experience and the efforts they put in it.
SO i decided i'm going that way.
here are my first baby steps..

Can you tell us the kind of tank cam assembly used here? Is it possible to show us a pic of the same?

Dont have the assembly with me right now, but its a manfrotto head with a suction cup.

Looks like the suction cup is mighty good and powerful if it can support a head, a camera on top of it and hold on. I suppose you were also using a remote. This calls for endless possibilities. No wonder these photographs look interesting.

NO remote! using the 10 second timer!
So its like this...
start the car and keep it ready..
mount the cam the start the timer..
rush to the drivers seat n start off..

The best thing about it is, you don't really have to speed up.. just doing 10kmph is more then enough.
My next target is to try mounting the cam away from the body(it might take a while trying to figure out how i''ll be doing that..but still!! ),so i can get the whole car in the frame.;)
Will soon try this in daytime..maybe this weekend, when my exams get over:)

^Good! I will be waiting eagerly for this. Try and do some creative stuff, strange angles, slow shutter speeds with weird backgrounds (but not cluttered) etc...

@motorcycho u are doing somthing which I had always been planning to do.
Let me know if u are in bangalore then I can join u.
The result u have got is good but needs more PP and varying angles. Also your face is visible in the side mirrors :p

I am inspired by ambient life car photography.
Here is one image from that website-

I would like to see the effects of both of you getting on to suction caps and Manfrotto swivels and CS4s! This is going to be fun.

@Speed Pujari - Those are the test shots..Wanted to check if there are any kinds of vibrations, thankfully there are none!!The second pic was taken with 30sec shutter speed!! I havnt done any kind of PP on them, the photos are straight off the cam :).

The technique is very easy, just need the right equipment..
Next time will try some more angles, and a bit faster shutter so that the background is significantly visible.

Thanks everyone... will put up some more pics soon.
