Name: Saurabh Agarwal
Occupation: Automobile Engineer
Equipment: Panasonic DMC-FZ50, and a Silk Tripod that currently is gathering dust back home in India. No SLR equipment yet.
Favourite kind of Photography: Colors. Now I am pretty sure that you people might be slightly thrown off by this unusual genre of photography, but for me, colors is a genre. I like bright colors to be jumping out of my photographs, be it the red flash of a Ferrari on a track, or the deep yellow of autumn against the clear blue sky. Color can be found anywhere and in any type of photography - be it Landscape, portraits, still life, automobiles, streets, neons, taillights, nature. Wherever you go, colors are there and so are photographic opportunities. Except perhaps on dull gray rainy days.
Background: I have been handling the photography duties in my family for quite sometime, back in the days of Yashica Compact fixed focus film cameras. Got into digital significantly later than many people, when the family bought a Sony DSC-P200 in 2005. Got my own digicam, the Panasonic DMC-FZ50 last year in Japan, and currently it is sitting in my closet ready for some action.
While photography had always interested me, it never became a serious hobby until last year when I got my own camera. Since then, I have read a lot of technical jargon about photography, photography gear, Digital technology, and also some techniques. And being the geek that I am, I now have a decent grasp on the technicalities of the camera systems. But that does not necessarily make a good photographer. And that is why I am here. I sorta know the technology of making a photo. Now I want to practice the art
And thus that becomes my Objective: To learn and fine tune the art of photography.
Some of my Snaps:
