For I see a lot of familiar faces here!
Hello all and thank you for having me here. Some of you know me as synn, but I go by the name of Sandeep among my circle of friends. I am 26 years of age and works as a post production artist in Singapore. So what brings me here?
I've been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. Always used to fiddle around with my late uncle's Minolta Rangefinder. My first camera was a gift, one of those mini format hot-shots. That, and the family AF cam (A Yashica) went through a lot of punishment thanks to yours truly, who didn't have much of an idea of the whats and hows of operating them. I did have a lot of fun working with them, though. :D
My first serious foray into photography was when I started doing my graduation in media, where we had photography as a subject. I got myself a used Vivitar V3000N SLR (Pentax K mount) + 28-70 Zoom and started learning the basics of photography. Snapped a lot of pictures, although; a significant amount of them were useless as the case would be for anyone making the jump from point and shoots to fully manual SLRs who don't nanny you with convenience oriented features. After sometime, I finally got the hang of it and reached the stage where I could snap acceptably good pictures. My love for black and white photography was amplified during this time.
Fast forward to now, when I am working on the digital media full time. I use a Nikon D70 at work (For location evaluation, background replacement etc.) and a Sony Ericsson Cybershot K770 for day to day snapping. I do not have a DSLR of my own at the moment, but I am aiming to correct that mistake very soon! Suggestions are welcome! :D
Here are some sample images from me. The first two were shot with the D70 while the last one is courtesy my camphone. Hope you'll like it:
