Guys, Generally a camera is benchmarked by its ability to produce least noise at max ISOs. Taken DSLR, the price is inversally proportional to the amount of noise it can produce.
But putten in a creative way, noise can give a different look and a different feel into the images. I shot some images and was working on CS3, although the image was shot at 200ISO with no noise, I tried adding some using filter...
Personally I liked it...

So lets share the creative noisy shots here ... Here goes my entry-

Good initiative SP. We will use this space to post our creative work with "Noise" or "Grain" as old-schoolers used to say.

:) It does look a bit overcooked. A wee bit less would look better to me. But then I am nobody to comment since I do not even know how to add noise!!!

There are two ways-
1. (the easiest one) Pick up any P&S(Sony preferably) and shoot at ISO greater than 200. They will give noise with no effort :D ..

2. (the serious one) Go to Filters>Add noise in CS3 . You have lotza option to choose from.

I don't like the crop but I am forcing myself to look at things differently.

I do not mind the crop at all. Looks like a pretty decent noise here.

Ps; This does not look like Clemson!

Yeah, I added the noise in GIMP.

This is indeed Clemson and this is how I spent my winter! The whole month, all my roommates had left for their vacation while I was stuck with work which HAD to be done. This after one helluva sem. Everyday was foggy, cold, dark, cloudy and lonely!

It was a tough time.

Absolutely. Henri-Georges Clouzot's Le Corbeau. Perfectly poised!

quite interesting topic...here one from my side!!! actually the initial noise in the foto is result of excessive processing !

Where is your grain?

I guess I should have put bigger pics then it would have been obvious.
450D gives noise even at ISO 400 .

Ashish,
I guess you converted this picture in software to simulate infrared. Honestly, it does not work. To get proper IR one needs to shoot IR.
As a critic to the noise in your picture-even that does not work. The processing is extreme which led to banding and over exposure.
Most of the time noise never looks good in a picture. It's the grains that is desirable. The grains are produced in a picture when you shoot film. Adding grains to a digital picture gives that film look.

Yes it is simulated in software.

I will work on your critique.
