Hi Guys,

Woke up early this Sunday and decided to shoot this flock of pigeons on our terrace..

Didn't see anything other than the ordinary... so, used my imagination and came up with these...

#1 The Blessed Couple
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l96/rx100/IMG_9166_web.jpg
Intentionally overexposed the sun in camera and then pulled down the exposure by 4 stops during RAW conversion to get these divine halo rings:)

#2 The Pigeon Print
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l96/rx100/IMG_9207abstract_web.jpg
Made this abstract by merging 24 different in flight silhouette shots of the pigeons:)

I don't know whether this is photography, or art or excessive photo manipulation or even digital exploitation....

Specifically calling for comments /criticism / input /feedback from each and every viewer! I need your opinions... so, go ahead, say it exactly as you feel like!

Thanks for looking:)

Vicky

Experiment Approved

I would call this "Photo Art". I liked the 2nd photo quite a bit. I personally do not much like the halo bit. I feel with this kind of manipulation, one can do good creative art for ads and other ends like have an exhibition or a gallery. Difficult to say more with just two trials. I feel there should be a bunch of works related thematically.

I like both, the second one more. The first one is great too, but I feel the halo is too bright and I don't like the stepped 'banding' of the halo. If it were a smoother, slightly more subdued halo it would be great!

It's a great idea. Very pleasant to look at.

Totally agree there.

I really liked the second one. Not sure if we can call this as art, I would say a very good capture/processing (is that an art ).Its surely an art by them..

whats art in phtograpphy...
creating a creative set and capturing it well ?
taking a we composed natural shot.. ? or something else ?

Good photography is an art in its own right. We all know that. Here why I emphasised further on the art bit is the way photography has been treated. It does not remain "pure" photography. It takes on another dimension with Post Processing which renders this "arty" feel to the otherwise mundane photograph.
