Beautiful HDR there SP. Single RAW file or 3? Which software did you use? Nice one, despite ripples in the water and all... After this maybe you can get into Photo Duels with HDR.

Thanks ken. This was using a single RAW. I used CS3 for editing it. And really HDR needs loootza patience and a really fast comp ...

@SP: Beatiful picture and a very good attempt at HDR, atleast for me. :) Please share the EXIF details too, if possible. :)

Great shot and first rate HDR! Also, this shot seems to be the perfect candidate for HDR:)
I would love to try a long exposure shot here...maybe like 30s or something to get the water all creamy..

Thanks Vicky ! .. And seems we have this view in common. I have some more HDRs to share which was shot using long exposure.
u can imagine the place where I had to stand to take this shot. It was really difficult to stand at that cliff with slippery rock in bottom, my tripod tied to my bag and I somehow balanced myself in the middle of water to click that shot.
Then I only had one intention i.e. take this shot and disappear, forget about shutter speeds :p ..
Moreover there were monkeys around , and I was in no mood to let them open up a photo studio with Nikon D40 (FYI monkeys are fond of snatching cameras):)
Sweet shots.
Thanks buddy

a very good subject for HDR,and the process is also good.this is a realistic HDR.
but then, what u seriously made dull is life itself.what i apply is to the moving water.moving water is always associated with life and rejuvenation.so if u just tone up the exposure or even the curves, the water flow will have an emphasis!

SP, great work there. Appreciate the retention of earthy colors in the Hdr's.
Did you a single raw file because the moving water would cause problems with the output, if the hdr is generated from 3 images?

Thanks dude. I used a single RAW for the processing. To be very honest I have no idea how CS3 handles three RAWs for HDR if the images have motion blurs.
@Experts- Any take on that?

Never used PS for HDRs. Hence cannot really reply. I have used mostly Photomatix and Dynamic Photo HDR.

Guyz .. I am in a terrible state of restlessness ... I saw this website-
http://www.ambientlife.co.uk/section208954.html
Now I really need a serious discussion about how to reach this level of HDR shot (or may be non-HDR), but this level of quality...
HDR pros- help ! ..
M planning to try out car shoot next weekend, but loosing confidence in POst processing. Need to know lots about it.
Gurus, need your inputs badly. The site has inspired me like crazy!..

Totally second that. But I am not sure if this is HDR really. It is mostly a lot of studio work and a lot of very good Post Processing.

simply by looking at his equipments, its easy to judge that the lighting is gonna be damn sexy.
shot at industrial estates, their test facilities etc..awesome background.
i believe every pro does that mask and paste on beautiful background stuff.somewhere this feature will be included.
i did one HDR during the monsoons.

and one non HDR in monsoon.

like i said..light is one of the key factors that play in your photo.how u light the subject is upto u!

I must say these HDRs nears the quality what is seen in the ambient' site. I agree with ken that it needs some studio set ups, but what? I think there has to be a suitable time of the day to shoot this, plus the weather..
Am I exaggerating something here bcoz I am unable to ascent the quality

Like I am asking again, with the light behind the car, how did you get the gleam on the front fender and the front reflectors? This does not look like you used fill-in...

Ken are you referring to my image in this quote??
that day simply the day was BEAUTIFUL.i think since the clouds diffused the light(ie the rest of it)created a uniform light.now frankly i also do not know how i achieved the gleam.ofcourse i dont have a strobe so fill flash is difficult.and no also on the post processing fill flash in LR.
to further show u sort of diffusion here is another shot of the same car.light is still behind the car,but the angle of shot is different.

these ones are one of the best i have seen at the PIN...
how do you create these???
by changing the exposure of the three copies of the same photos and then playing with the curves?
or some other special ingredient?

combining the exposures together to form a single HDR and then playing with that.
