hello everyone,
i am emile zwaltek, i am of french nationality and i live in Pune since early september. I moved here to work as an "art director" and help in the settlement of a private educational venture between India and France.
Prior coming to India i have lived in the US for 5 years, vietnam for 2 years, south-korea for 6 months, and when i was a kid in Cote d'Ivoire for 3 years and Tunisia for 2 other years. I love to travel as a worker.
The first photographic images i took and that i can remember of are from the late eighties when i was graduating in art college and history of art.
Then I started to work in some french CG companies for a few years. I took another step and settled in San Francisco where i worked as a lighter on Star Wars Episode I and Shrek. And in Los Angeles where i stayed 3 years and worked on other CG feature films (all this happen under another name that is easily findable on my website).
During all that time i've continued to photography what was on the way and there's a few series that i like. Different subjects such as portraits, urban scenery, workers, kids are part of my favorites.
The photographers that i admire the most are Robert Frank, Mc Cullin, Gregory Colbert, Raymond Depardon and Larry Burrows. I admire them because i think they've touched a part of truth with their work.
As a presentation I am going to show an image a month for year 2008.
