for days me my camera and my raynoxes were lying idle.college work had eaten me whole leaving nothing extra curricular to do.college come in evening at home and next morning again college.so had zero time to do clicking.but things were on the brighter side that day.

the day before i had to go late to college.it was traditional day.so i was reading the morning paper when suddenly my sis yelled me to leave paper and come running.

what she showed me was a spectacular event happening.

for the second time(the first time i was out).a butterfly was born in our garden.butterflies (ie caterpillars) are very choosy when it comes to making cocoons, and they want best places.so we both were proud that it had chosen our garden as their home.

the biggest advantage to me was that, since it was NEW born,it will not fly away for atleast 10min.so those 10mins were my window of opportunity.

the butterfly was also curious seeing the new world.

sharing some pics.

it had one of the most beautiful patterns i have seen.

couldnt resist to use the raynox.

so first was the 150.

at near 100mm.

then full 300mm

next was the 250 at 300mm

and finally the combo at 300mm.shooting this shot was the most difficult since i had to get close and still not spook the butterfly.DOF played games with me.

looked at the watch and it was time for college.DAMN:phad to leave.but it was a proud moment.

hope you enjoyed the shots.tripod has been used in the raynox shots.all shots are uncropped.

Nice series. My favorite is the second last shot... nice detail there!

Did you not take any pics of the pupa?
