Hey friends,
starting this thread here as I could not see any other place suitable for it. Please move it If I missed something.

Me along with one of my photog friend are thinking to turn one of the room of my other house, where no one is living, into a learning studio. But we dont have any access to lighting stuff here in Punjab. Atleast not in Patiala and Chandigarh (No Big Camera store have atleast).

What we have decided to buy:

One Soft box of around 32" (more or less)
Two Umbrellas (silver or white)
Wireless trigger

Need a strobe setup and not continous lights.

The setup we require should be around 350+ws

Budget 15-20K

So any guess, where we can get this stuff in Delhi? Any contact numbers? Any details?

We can change the setup if get some good recomendations

Alrite again! Buying 2 x PRolinchrom 23. I know they are available in Delhi. Got some websites of the dealers, sent them an email hope to get a price quote from them. Most probably they will be around 6-7k per head.

Sure Ken Sir, but dont expect me to post the things soon as my camera is at Canon Service Centre for Focussing screen replacement. I got it damaged a long back, nearly one year has passed.

As @Kenda already said - please dont forget to show us results.

OK finally I got them. But unfortunately, my camera is still at Canon Service centre for replacement of focussing screen, had a talk with Canon executive, he said the parts are still not available and the camera would take 10 days more. DAMN!!!

With this kind of equipment, how would you ideally place them and for what kind of work. Can you show us a diagram please? And with this equipment, will you be able to shoot with a P&S as well, with a slave unit?

Sarao

Portrait Shoots, placements dont know, as I will be changing all the time to learn the stuff. Diagram will follow when I'' do first shoot with the strobes. I am also curious to know about the P&S thing, but since I dont have a camera with a hotshoe right now, so I will try it one someone's camera as soon as possible

Havent got the camera yet, but learned a few things about the strobes.

Very well designed and build quality is awesome. You can actually feel high quality material used.

PC Sync cables are pretty long.

Cooling system is great.

Softbox is small. Its fine for headshots and half-body but not for full length.

Looks interesting. I liked the Teddy. I will get back to this once I get a better faster connection. Right now am travelling. Could you give us a diagram of how you have placed the strobes and what do they look like? Thanks again.

Sarao

I will do that. But I forgot what power of strobes I was using exactly. But will surely try to put up the things clearly.

Just a test shoot yesterday. What I found is that the softboxes are very small to get full body shots. I first had an impression that I will manage. But nothing worked the way I wanted.

So I think I will need to buy a bigger softbox.

Apology Ken Sir, I deleted the pics as I thought it wont be of any use. I might get someone again at my place to get some pics of the Full Body shots.

Actually what happened that the Upper body was evenly exposed but lower body was under exposed, some 2 or 3 stops.
