Hello fellow shutterbugs,

I am an Electrical engineer working in Cochin. My hometown is Kottayam, 14kms off Kumarakom.

I love photography but I my technique and knowledge have not really frwon in proportion to my interest in the field.

I love to to click pics, so much so that it gets irritating to the guys who ride with me on long rides! I am always in search of that elusive, out of the box angle.
I used to own a P&s Pentax film camera. Then I got a break when I bought the Nokia 6630, I clicked away happily with the meagre 1.3 mp cam phone. It was only in June 2007 that I got my S3 IS.

For me Riding and Photography complement each other. I ride so that I can go to scenic place to photograph and I take photos to treasure the memories of a good trip
To be honest, I am yet to manage both together, effectively. I hope to learn techniques to do that on this forum.

Camera: It's a P&S/Ultra zoom, Canon S3 IS ( Aryan and his work with the S3 IS was undoubtedly one of the main inspiration for getting it)
Actually, I had asked my dad to get me a Canon eos 350d, which was available at less than 25k as it was being replaced by the 400d. However there was no stock available and the 400d was just too expensive. So I decided to stick with the S3 IS, learn the ropes, and buy a D-SLR when I have the dough!
My Favourite Subjects (of Photography): Automobiles, because I love them and also, I am quite shy still when it comes to taking snaps of people! :p
I also love doing landscapes and yes macros!
Favourite Photographers: Ahem, ahem, I don't really know many, but Victor George is someone who comes to mind.

Recently I acquired a basic tripod( cheap one) for my camera, with main objectives being HDRs, Waterfalls, Night shots. However, the project is yet to really take off!
Here are a couple of shots from my side:

Welcome to thePhotographer Shutterbug Titus

Good intro there. Hope to see your movement in HDR as you have mentionned. There is a relevant thread in that department with a relatively detailled tutorial running on the site. Do have a look and get back with some good work. :)

All three are fairly good overall. The boat picture is nice, but it nothing is happening there; it is not doing much to me, maybe you could try getting closer with a wide angle. The bike shot is what it is... a bike shot, nice looking, a bit dramatised, will do. But I liked the Cat the most. It is sharp, expressive, well-composed and correctly exposed. One can really look at the Cat photo for long because it keeps you engrossed.

@Titus: Post a few more pictures. The S3 is a wonderful camera, I still use it at times although it does feel a little too small these days.. ;) But, I love the long zoom that it provides, not to mention the hassle-free macro mode.

I say 'hassle-free' because after using the Canon 100mm macro lens for some-time, the macro mode of the S3 feels comparatively hassle-free! :p :D
