a LOVELY guide. I am finally beginning to get it. Damn, everyone said use USM noise ninja etyadi - no one told to use the preview mode :D
Others can share more that helped them!

You have similar sliders and tools on the RAW window of PS too.

I always keep my sharpening at the end.Do a basic pre sharpening at the beginning. Final after resizing the image.

Exact workflow chamkao yaar. What do you do different? What is pre-sharpening?

I think that he is talking about sharpening when you are on the RAW window of PS or RAW version on LR.

Basic Sharpening in LR of RAW. process it,resize it,remove noise if any,give it final sharpening.
Sharpening and then removing noise is not so good.cause when you sharpen,you sharpen the noise too. Pre sharpening doesnt hurt much but final sharpening does.
