@Shabbar, My dear friend, appreciating your interest and the time you spend....I would like to tell you these pictures are just not there....given they are shot in captivity you have all the time to do the calculations...
There are 2 things...I have said before...
Do justice to the "L" lens you have....the combo of the lens and body might not be calibrated....
OR..
Serious problem in your technique...The images are too soft and OOF...
CS5 is like good icing on a cake....Get the cake right...!!!
I am concerned for your time, effort and passion.
Regards.:)

Surya sir, thanx for the input, few things I would like you to point out for me are as you see I have shot all these photo with f4, is this the ideal aperture for shooting birds or should I go higher . Do you attach any filters to your bazooka as I seriously feel my hoya filter is preventing me from exploring my lens capability to the fullest.
And about the lens and body calibration I am a complete noob about this but yes I did a lot of survey on the net about the the amalgamation of these two and found no negative reviews thus went ahead with the purchase. Anyway soon I would be upgrading to a 7D. Hope that would do some justice.
Thank you once again for your highly valued feedback.

Shooting wide aperture is the norm of wildlife photography...unless otherwise...It gives you the chance to get more shutter speed, which results in shake free images...
Softness in the image may be due to micro-shake/handheld or due to focus issues in the system...
One more point is ...too close to a subject...and wide aperture...you will have issues of DOF...For that you may have to stop down the lens...( in that case your DOF will go for a toss..).
Take a pic. along with your set-up to the service center...to rule out the issues of calibration...It may be one of case...if so, sort it out...show them the pic.you shot...and ask them what's wrong. They will have a test target shot to compare...and give you feedback.
Refrain from cropping...too much...!!!
Good luck on the 7d...

7d! Great. Good luck on that. You would be the 2nd 7D owner here.
